
George Skiadopoulos is Professor of Finance at the Department of Banking and Financial Management of the University of Piraeus and at the School of Economics and Finance of Queen Mary University of London. He is co-Founder and Director of the Institute of Finance and Financial Regulation (IFFR), and an Honorary Senior Visiting Fellow at Bayes Business School, City St. George’s, University of London. He also serves on the Consultative Working Group on Investor Trends & Research of the European Securities Markets Authority (ESMA).
His expertise spans asset management, risk management, commodities, ESG, and climate finance. Professor Skiadopoulos has extensive professional experience as a consultant to leading financial institutions and is a frequent speaker at academic, professional, and policy conferences. His research has been published in leading journals such as Management Science, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, and The Accounting Review. His work has informed policy discussions by institutions including the U.S. SEC and the OECD and has been featured in international media such as Bloomberg, Forbes, and The Wall Street Journal.
Professor Skiadopoulos holds a Ph.D. from the University of Warwick, an M.Sc. in Mathematical Economics and Econometrics from the London School of Economics, and a Ptychion in Economics from AUEB (ranked first in his graduating class).
