George Korniotis

    George Korniotis is a professor of finance and the Bank of America Scholar at the Miami Herbert Business School at the University of Miami. He is also a research fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research. Before joining the University of Miami, he taught at the University of Notre Dame and served as a financial economist at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, DC. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Cyprus, graduating in 1998 as valedictorian of his class and receiving the Presidential Award of the Republic of Cyprus for exemplary academic achievement. He pursued graduate studies at Yale University on a five-year full scholarship and earned his PhD in 2003. While at Yale, he studied under Peter Phillips and Nobel Laureate Robert Shiller. His research focuses on investment choice, behavioral finance, household finance, and the role of macroeconomic conditions in shaping asset prices. His work has been regularly published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, and the Review of Financial Studies. In addition to academic audiences, his research has reached a broader public through coverage in the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times.
