
Alessandro Previtero is an Associate Professor of Finance at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, and a Faculty Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). Originally from Italy, Alessandro received his Ph.D. from the University of Lecce in his hometown and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the UCLA Anderson School. Before joining Indiana University, Alessandro was on the faculty at the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario and visited the McCombs Business School at UT Austin.
Alessandro’s research is in behavioral finance, focusing on consumer financial decision-making. His current and past research speaks to i) the value of financial advice, ii) saving for retirement and annuitization, and iii) fintech and retail investor behavior.
His work has been published in top-tier academic journals such as the Journal of Finance, the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Financial Economics, and the Journal of Economic Perspectives. His research has also been covered by – among others – the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Money Magazine, The Globe and Mail, National Post, Montreal Gazette, and MacLean’s.
