
Elena Andreou is an econometrician who specializes econometric modelling in areas involving financial and macroeconomic analysis, forecasting, risk analysis and the impact of climate change. She is a Professor of Econometrics at the Department of Economics and the Director of the Economic Research Centre at the University of Cyprus. She published in top econometrics and economics journals such as Econometrica, the Journal of Econometrics, the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Journal of Applied of Econometrics, among others. She has been the Principal Investigator in various research grants and projects by the prestigious European Research Council (ERC) of European Commission with two grants (Starting and Consolidator), the UK ESRC, Levelhulme Trust U.K., the European Commission’s Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), the Cyprus National Research Promotion Foundation. She has led various economic policy projects funded by economic policy institutions such as the Ministry of Finance of Cyprus, the EC and the Central Bank of Cyprus. She is also a member of the CEPR and has been a member of the Cyprus Economy and Competitiveness Council (representing the European Commission’s National Productivity Boards).
