Neil Kellard

    Neil is the current Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Essex and a Professor of Finance at Essex Business School. Previous roles include Dean, Deputy Director, member of the Senior Management Team and Head of the Finance Group. Neil has held several external positions including Chair of the UK’s Conference of Professors of Accounting and Finance (CPAF) and Methodologist at the Chartered Association of Business Schools’ (CABS) International Guide to Academic Journal Quality. Neil is also an Honorary Academic Fellow at the Centre for Responsible Banking and Finance, University of St Andrews.

    Neil’s research interests include commodities, environmental finance, long-run movements in prices, private equity and hedge funds, cryptocurrencies, financial econometrics and forecasting, efficiency and risk measurement, innovation, corporate governance, health, gender, impact, and inequality. He has published several papers in international journals such as the Review of Economics and Statistics, the British Journal of Management, Social Science and Medicine, Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, World Development, the Journal of Development Economics, and the Journal of Empirical Finance. Supervising 25 PhD students to completion, Neil’s research has been cited by the World Bank, the IMF and UN FAO amongst others.
