Ioannis Floros

Dr. Floros’ academic research appears in the in the following journals: Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Review of Accounting Studies, Journal of Financial Intermediation, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, Financial Management and Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting. 

Prior to joining UWM’s Lubar College of Business, Dr. Floros was the Dean’s Faculty Fellow in Finance and Associate Professor at Iowa State University. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at the University of Pittsburgh, Iowa State University, DePaul University, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Zurich Elite Business School.

From 2012-2013, Dr. Floros was a Visiting Academic Fellow at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where he served as the leading economist for rules related to the JOBS Act and participated in the formation of the economic baseline and the cost-benefit analysis of Dodd-Frank rules. Dr. Floros also researched fraudulent activities conducted in over-the-counter markets.

Prior to joining academia, Dr. Floros has worked for Accenture S.A. as a senior financial consultant, where he was involved in asset and liability management, implementation of integrated treasury systems, and data migration projects. He is also one of the founding members of the Dream Exchange, LLC.
