Ningzhong Li

    Ningzhong Li is a Professor of Accounting at the Naveen Jindal School of Management, University of Texas at Dallas. He is a highly accomplished and prolific scholar, with numerous publications in top-tier accounting and management journals, including Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, Contemporary Accounting Research, and Management Science.

    Professor Li’s research spans a broad range of topics, including financial contracting, supply chains, corporate disclosure, ESG, and, more recently, political economy and generative AI. His political economy research adopts an information-based perspective, examining the role of government information and transparency, particularly accounting information, in shaping economic and political outcomes. His AI-related work focuses on the impact of AI on capital markets. He is a frequent reviewer for top-tier accounting and management journals and currently serves on the editorial boards of The Accounting Review and Contemporary Accounting Research.

    Professor Li earned his Ph.D. in Accounting and MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2009. He also holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Finance from Peking University, completed in 1999 and 2002, respectively.
