
Professor Aktas has held the Chair of Mergers and Acquisitions at WHU since September 2013, and currently serves as Academic Director of the European Summer Programs. Previously worked at Skema Business School, EMLYON Business School and Louvain School of Management (Université catholique de Louvain), and visited the Anderson School of Management (UCLA, Los Angeles) as a researcher in 2001-2002. With a broad interest in empirical corporate finance, Professor Aktas has published extensively on mergers and acquisitions in leading international journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of International Business Studies, Review of Finance, Economic Journal, Journal of Corporate Finance, Business & Society, and Journal of Banking & Finance. His research has been featured on the programs of leading international conferences, and quoted in widely read international media, such as the Financial Times and The New York Times. In terms of editorial activity, beyond providing refereeing services for leading journals and conferences, he served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Corporate Finance and is currently co-Editor of Revue Finance and Associate Editor of the British Accounting Review and Review of Corporate Finance.
